When you pick up your rented vehicle, the cost you should expect to pay includes the rental charge for the vehicle itself, any optional extras you have chosen (like GPS or child safety seats), the cost of rental insurance if you choose to purchase through Hertz, taxes and potentially an airport surcharge if you're picking up at the airport. Please note that if you are using a credit card, Hertz will place a hold on your card for the estimated charges of the rental, plus an additional security deposit. The exact amounts for these charges may vary, so it's always a good idea to confirm with Hertz when making your reservation.

We are unable to provide copies of rental agreements through this platform. The rental agreement would have been provided to you during your rental period. If you lost your copy, contact the Hertz location where you rented the car to inquire about obtaining a new one. They can check if CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) or Excess amount details were included in the agreement. Since this is related to personal and private details, it's recommended to directly contact Hertz to follow their privacy policies and guidelines. Please ensure you have your rental details like the rental agreement number, date and location handy to expedite the process.

Hertz offers the PlatePass toll payment service in the New York and New Jersey regions. PlatePass allows you to drive through electronic toll lanes without stopping. It will record all toll transactions, which will be added to your rental agreement, avoiding administrative fees. Please note that this service comes without a daily fee. You are charged only for the days you use the service. If you wish not to use PlatePass, you may pay your tolls in cash (if this option is available) or use your personal toll device. If you take no action, Hertz will receive the unpaid toll notifications, pay the tolls, and charge you the standard administrative fee per toll.

After returning your hire, the deposit refund process typically takes up to 14 days. However, specific time frames may depend on several factors including bank processing times and individual circumstances. Do keep in mind that during peak periods, this process can take longer. It's recommended to check with your bank about their processing times if more than 14 days have passed and you still haven't received your refund. It’s always a priority to ensure the refund is issued as promptly as possible.
