I am trying to get approval of the cost of replacing my kitchen counters. My contractor got verbal approval from my Claim Adjuster and then he reneged. ... I have a claim for home repairs due to water damage. I was out of my home for * months. My floors were replaced in my living room and kitchen. My cabinets and counters were replaced in the kitchen. Safeco*Liberty recommended a contactor for the work. I chose to go with the recommendation because I believed that Safeco would would handle problems that might occur and I could rely on them. *Everything went fairly well until the kitchen counters were installed. I was shown a *** inch square sample of the counters. I picked one with the stipulation that I be shown the whole slab before installation. The day of installation I was informed that the slab would not arrive til the next day. I was also informed that my contractor was on vacation for a week and I could contact John Kitrell at KB if there were problems. I never got pictures of the slab. When I checked my condo I found the counters were installed without my seeing them or knowledge. They were terrible. *I notified the contractor and my Claim Adjuster *Immediately. The adjuster Darnell Martin never acknowledged my written messages. The contractor spoke with me and within * to ** days*he called me with approval to replace the counters. I then met him at a place he chose to pick out new counters. I am finally back in my condo and I received a call from the contractor that Safeco will not pay the $*,*** for the replacement counters. *After * texts and emails Mr Martin responded that he was told by the contractor that “I chose a specific counter top, didn’t like it and chose to replace it”. That is not what transpired. I was never shown the slab as agreed and did not agree to have it installed. I am not paying for this mishap and I am not responsible for what happened. Mr. Martin did not communicate with me on a number of occasions and denied receiving any messages from me. Fortunately I put it in writing. * The true facts are as I have written. The counter replacement was approved. My contractor got a verbal approval. Otherwise I would have been advised of the costs and required to sign for it to go forward. Neither of these happened. I was told it was approved and then picked out a replacement with the help of the contractor

I have been a customer with Safeco for over ** years and have * policies. Auto, Home and*Earthquake.
I’ve tried explaining to Darnell Martin the Claim Adjuster with emails,texts and calls. He ignored my messages and then denied getting them. I have saved the messages.
