Device is a PC Dell model Inspirion ****, running Windows ** x**, Express Service Code ***********, Service Tag CVZ**F*.*Following a Microsoft quality upgrade on *******, the principal user's account logon referenced a new account with name "TEMP". None of that user's files (documents, downloads, &c.) were available* they all showed as empty. All the programs that had been installed for all users were available from icons on the desktop. The desktop background was the default Windows logo. *Inspection of the folder C:**Users showed entries with names similar to all three pre-existing user accounts, an entry TEMP, and account names that appear to have been machine generated. e.g., defaultuser*, defaultuser*, &c. Inspection of the user account name looking like the principal user's account name revealed all that user's files were present. They were simply not accessible from the usual signon, and there was no signon for the account with her own files. *The other two pre-existing user account names were accessible by signon as usual in both looks and function, and need no repair.*I would like your help in restoring the principal user's signon to her own files, and deletion of the bogus user account names. Any hints as to what I might have done wrong to bring about this situation, and how I can avoid it in future, would be appreciated. *H. R. Howland *-***-***-**** *****@***.com
