How Do I Recover a Hacked Kraken Account?

Locking and Recovering Your Account

  1. Contact the 24/7 live support team through the online chat box located in the lower right-hand corner of the screen and lock your account.
  2. Click on "Contact Support" at the top of the screen.
  3. Select "Submit a ticket request" to open a support ticket.
  4. Fill in the form that opens on the screen. Include the following information:
    • In the first drop-down menu, select "Sign In troubleshooting and Account security."
    • Select "Report Suspicious Activity" in the next box.
    • Type in the verified email address linked to your account.
    • Select all the suspicious activity noticed in the fourth box.
    • Choose the account type.
    • Enter any additional information to process your ticket.
    • Attach any documentation to your help desk ticket that will help support your claim.
  5. Make sure your devices and your email are secured to prevent hackers from overriding your recovery efforts.
  6. Reset your password on your Kraken account, you email account and your bank account.
  7. Notify your bank so it can track any potentially suspicious activity as well.
  8. A customer support representative will contact you via email regarding account recovery. The email will contain the steps you need to take to further secure your account or may include a request for additional information.

Note: Account recovery takes several steps to complete. Kraken advises traders to review accounts regularly for suspicious activity and report it immediately. Additionally, it is a good idea to routinely change passwords and use tools such as two-factor authentication to protect your account.
