What are the system requirements for running Expression Engine?

Asked 6 months ago
The system requirements for running Expression Engine are minimal. It requires a web server running PHP (5.4 or later) and MySQL (5.1 or later) or PostgreSQL (8.3 or later). The web server can be Apache (with mod_rewrite), Nginx, or Microsoft IIS. It is compatible with both Windows and Unix-based operating systems. Additionally, Expression Engine needs the GD or ImageMagick library for image manipulation, and optional libraries like cURL, XML-RPC, and mbstring for certain features. As for the browser, it supports all modern web browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer. It is recommended to have at least 512 MB of RAM, although the exact memory required for optimal performance depends on the size of the website and its traffic.
